Do not purchase from this company! I very strongly recommend finding another monument company. My grandfather passed away just 2 months after my dad turned 4 years old and my grandmother passed away when my dad was 12. My Dad, who just celebrated his 85th birthday, never knew where his father was buried and has searched for it throughout his life. After extensive search for 4 years, I was able to locate my grandfather's and my great grandmother's unmarked graves the week before Father's day 2018. My dad was so excited! We made the hour and a half trip to Antioch Cemetery outside Exeter, MO. Dad was so emotionally moved to finally know where his father was buried! We left the cemetery and went immediately to the nearest monument company which was Wommack Monument in Monett, MO and placed an order for a combined headstone. I paid over half the total cost and asked how long it would take before it was set. I was told 2-3 weeks after the proof was approved. We were told they would be mailing the proof for us to approve. Once we approved the proof, we were supposed to mail it back. I asked if they could email the proof since I travel for work and was told "no", they do everything by mail. I waited for 3 weeks to receive the proof before I finally called to check the status. I finally received the proof a week later and although we explicitly explained how the names on the headstone should be etched, they even printed it exactly as it should be on my receipt, the proof arrived with the names reversed. They sent a note along with the proof instructing me to go to the grave site (an hour and a half away) to make sure it presented correctly. I went to the grave site and believed I was still correct on how the names should be presented on the headstone. I even called the cemetery caretaker who met me at the grave sites and confirmed I was correct. Time was of the essence because I wanted to have the headstone set before my father's 85th birthday which was only about 3 weeks away. I immediately went back to Wommack Monument and explained the proof was reversed. Connie, the office manager argued still that I was wrong. I finally told her to forget the single headstone and to create individual ones. I explained I did not have time to wait on mailing proofs back and forth and told her I would wait there no matter how long it took them to create the proof and I would approve it that day so they could get to work on it immediately. I signed off on the proof, paid the expense of having separate headstones and explained the urgency. You see, my dad was orphaned when he was 12. He had to quit school in the 8th grade to try to care for his sister and younger brother during the depression. His sister and brother passed away a few years ago leaving Dad the last remaining member of his entire family. His sister has only 1 daughter left and his brother left 2 daughters. I had planned a huge 85th birthday celebration with my remaining 3 cousins coming in from Oklahoma, Minnesota and Kansas City, MO. They had the same curiosity about our grandparents as I growing up. It was a HUGE deal that we finally located the graves. It was my hope the headstone would be set so my cousins could visit the graves. We have never all been together at the same time in our lives. We will most likely never be together again... This was so very important to us as a family. It has been over 3 months since we first ordered the headstone. My father's birthday party was this past weekend. The headstones are STILL not set! My cousins who live so far away may never get to visit again. I can not express how dissatisfied I am with Wommack Monument Company in Monett, MO!!!
