Cafe At Briarcliff Village

Hostess was very cold. We requested a booth/table out of the way and she said they had neither. Stuck us at small table right in front of door with plenty of open tables. We ordered a special which was salmon, mahi mahi & scallops. All three were overcooked and dry. The manager did comp it but we won't go back.

When we walked in we were greeted by a lovely gentle lady with the most charming personality. Her elegance and grace impressed me from the second I walked in. I thought to myself "this is gonna be good." This woman, who I already felt could be my second mother, took us to a Booth in the middle of the establishment. We were promptly greeted by a nice young man after several minutes. He told us of the daily specials and made several suggestions as what to order. "Mmmmmmmmm" I thought as he told me about the eggs Florentine. I had to hold myself back from shouting out of excitement. I think I may have wet myself a little, but that's okay. We had a few minutes to look at the menu and as soon as we were ready the waiter rushed over as quick as possible. I think he liked us because we were obviously being treated better than any other table in the restaurant. Only a few short minutes after our order was taken, our food came out piping hot and boy did it look like heaven on a plate. I took a bite of my food and instantly melted in my seat. Only Zeus himself could have delivered a better entree. The waiter came back as soon as I took my second bite. He asked how everything was and I showed him how happy o was by performing a small Irish jigg right there at the table. To my surprise, he joined in! After eating our check came and went as fast as the flash. Upon leaving I saw my new mom at the host stand with what I assumed was her charming husband. We all hugged Ans were welcomed back by all. I have a small place in my heart for these people now. In all seriousness, the staff was incredibly rude from the second we walked in. The waiter was terrible and was very very slow. Our food took forever, but that's okay because it was actually really good. When we left the host and who I assume was a manager or owner completely ignored us. A friend of ours said thanks to them but got nothing in return. Overall. Great food. horrible staff. If their service was better I would return, but now I will not.
