Holiday Inn Joplin-I-44 & Us 71

I needed a decent internet connection to get some much-needed work done. The connection here was so slow, I couldn't access the sites I needed. I asked the woman at the front desk if it's usually this slow and she said yes. I would have rather stayed at a lesser-quality hotel with adequate wifi. This ruined what had otherwise had been a good trip. They shouldn't advertise in-room internet since they obviously can't deliver.

Hotel itself is not all bad, very hard bed but all in all mostly clean. My main reason for the poor review is; when I stay out on business I need half decent Internet. The internet at this hotel is awful!

Go somewhere else. There are a lot of choices close to this hotel, choose them. Fitness room- out of order, elevator- out of order, coke machine- out of order. Super dated even though it seems to have had a reno, it still looks and smells dingy. Mold smell throughout the hotel and room. SLOOOW internet, loud hallway. Like most Holiday Inns, it has seen better days and should be demolished. People that don't travel often may not mind and think its fine, but if you're a heavy busy traveler, take heed.

This Holiday Inn is garbage and a terrible representation of the brand. First stay was less than desirable with the room feeling damp, dirty, & outdated. Internet service was subpar so I needed to do my work in the lobby, which seemed to help the speed a little but not much to help me complete anything in a timely manor. My second stay was garbage, I cancelled my stay and left the first night. The room was not what I reserved (two bed suite for 3 people but got one queen) and when asked to accommodate my reservation I may as well have been talking to a plant. I should have learned the first time. Some of my co-workers have stayed here only once and have never gone back for the same reasons. I HIGHLY recommend reserving a room elsewhere even if in desperate need for a place to stay.

They get five stars for cleanliness, but one star for Internet thats why I am giving them three stars. For a hoilday inn you would think they would have excellent Internet, they don't it barely will bring up a web page. For a non smoking hotel there is sure alot of smoker's out side a sure signed that it is a working mans hotel. Just like everybody else said it is old hotel but is it worth the price, no not if you don't get a discount.
