Black Shire Distillery Tasting Room

I had a tasting here and the young bourbon is just too young for me and maintained most if not all of the qualities of whiskey that isn’t ready. It’s great that these distilleries exist but I sure hope that they hold over some whiskey to age properly.

Excellent place to drop in and do a flight of spirits. You get to pick four from a list that includes vodka, gin, bourbons, and brandy. I chose the bourbon, the rye, the stampede (a blend I think), and the blackberry bourbon that I heard so much about. The first two were great and I bought a bottle of the bourbon to take home. The blackberry was not for me, but after a few sips, the bartender offered to add lemonade to it (its one of their cocktails). It was very good as a mixer and my non-bourbon-drinking wife finished it off. Bartender was very nice and seemed to know her stuff.
