Cumberland Family Dentistry

I want to say that I am having a good experience going to Dr. Cumberland, the dentist, in Richland. He calls his patients to check on them after their procedures. He makes the procedures as pain free as possible, and he sits down with you to discuss your dental issues and plan your treatment. I have never had this kind of experience before at a dentist. He is also super quick, and his staff is lovely. I get a good vibe in his office!

I have always had a fear of dentists (dentophobia/odontophobia) and I have neglected going to the dentist as I got older because of this. The only time I would go to a dentist office was when I was in pain, and on almost every occasion I would tell them to pull the tooth instead of fixing it. This was one of the dumbest things I could have ever done regarding my teeth. My thinking was if I had the tooth pulled that was one less tooth I would ever have to worry about causing me pain. Also if the tooth/teeth was in the back of my mouth no one could tell when I smiled but I never thought about those teeth being the ones I chewed my food with. I've had a tooth bothering me off and on for a few months so this week after calling and talking to a few dentist offices I decided to try a different dentist office this time, I decided I would try Cumberland Family Dentistry. I wish I had known about them earlier because they were AWESOME !!!!! I'm very serious. When I first called and made the appointment the lady was very kind and when I explained my fear and anxiety she talked to me like someone who really understood my fear and anxiety and didn't make me feel embarrassed about it. She was able to get me a appointment the next day because of a cancelation. I was SO NERVOUS walking through those doors but I'm glad I stayed. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was so kind and caring. The dentist I saw was Lynsey Cumberland and she was wonderful. She explained everything she was doing and why she was doing it before doing it. I wished I knew the exact words to say how relaxed I was just talking to them. For me, this is the easiest way I know to explain how the dentist and staff at Cumberland Family Dentistry was different than my other 2 dentist I have ever used, I didn't tell them.... JUST GO AHEAD AND PULL THE TOOTH. I knew they cared about me, my anxiety and my teeth. I wish I had found them sooner because I would have had my teeth fixed instead of pulled. THEY ARE AWESOME !!!!!!!!! If you have anxiety about going to see a dentist, please give this office a try and don't lose your teeth due to fear and anxiety. I thank God for answered prayers to leading me there.
