Went here for lunch and ordered the $8.99 enchilada special. The food was not very good and the pico de gallo looked like it had been sitting around for a while. When I got the check I was charged $17.00 for the meal. They said it was b/c it was Sunday and some crap about not having lunch specials then, even though it said 8.99 by the door. That guy with the silver front teeth who took my card is a thief and I suspect this place is going out of business soon since there were so few people there. In addition to complimentary chips and salsa, every meal at Oscar's comes with a generous helping of human fecal material. Maybe if that guy remortgaged his teeth they could afford a chef with clean hands. Don't eat here unless you want E. Coli and definitely don't get the special!

It was absolutely terrible. The service was very poor. The waitress was rude and was not very efficient at re-filling drinks. I'm certain she completely forgot we existed being that it took 45 mins to get our meal after ordering. Then we only got them after we asked where our food was. Then on top of that my hard tacos were completely soft due to sitting for so long, the beans tasted sour, and the food was cold. Not once was I asked how the food was. I will never go back. That's sad because it really was a cool building and nice atmosphere. But save yourself the trouble, taco bell is WAY better. So what does that say about this place.

I don't think all the gringos posting know what they're talking about. I'm from Texas and I know good Mexican food. Oscar's was the most authentic I had during my stay in Hattiesburg. If I ever go back I will definitely stop by. Delicious AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD and decent service.

We dined here for lunch. The service and quality of food wasn't what I had expected. The chips were pretty good. They have a seasoning on them, but it wasn't evenly distributed among the chips. Some had more than others and some had none at all. The salsa had a very sharp taste to it and this was very overpowering. Our main dish was the chicken quesadilla with rice and beans. This was very bland, but was corrected with salt. The rice and beans were of adequate portions, but the portion size of the chicken and cheese within the quesadilla was very small. For service, we were seated fairly quickly and our order was taken in a timely matter. Our server didn't greet us again until our food was ready. We had to remind him to bring our drinks after he gave us our food because he forgot. After bringing us our drinks, he gave us straws that were too short for the cup (They didn't even reach the top of the cup.) For me the bottom line is the price of the food, didn't equate the quality of food or service I received. I have had better experiences at other mexican restaurants for a better price. Therefore I wouldn't recommend this place, nor will I be coming back until some changes have been made.
