This review is for the eyeglass shop located within the Green Eye Institute, mainly, although I will also review my experience in getting my presecription and eye exam, as well.The eye exam was basic, although I appeared to frustrate the doctor during a part of the exam in which they test the pressure of the eyes. To do that, they have to get the contraption right up to your eyeball, and being autistic, I do not like things touching me so I flinched quite a lot as the thing drew closer and closer. I would say the doctor was cold and unfriendly overall as was his assistant. I was not a human sitting there but just a another pair of eyes. He went through the exam like he was doing it in his sleep. The assistant couldn't care less, either. The doctor would not give me my PD pupillary distance when requested because I think they want you to buy glasses from them instead of going online to get your goasses. Stupid. I think that is unreasonable given the cost of the eye exam.The front staff to check in however was the most pleasant I have experienced in any office in Hattiesburg, whether for humans or animals. Great job, ladies!Now on to the eye glasses. The eyeglass shop was weird. You have to make an appointement and even if you have got an appointment, people keep popping in and Chris, who works there, winds up serving them all first. So, I had to wait a long time. They push the main frames and then point to the "cheap frames", which do not seem in the least bit different from the others than the rest of the overly priced frames. Chris really makes the point several times, "you get what you pay for" and these are the "cheap frames". I went home to think about it. Honestly, they do not have fashionable frames there at all. So, I was just going to buy a basic pair to watch tv with and then wait and get a really chic pair for fashion. I like Chanel the best, always. So, I have a pair of frames that I like very much that are cheap in cost, yes, but are extremely well made and have the hinges I like that flex in metal. I brought those in and he popped the lenses out and said, "well I guess they can work with these, but there is no guarantee. Look how hard it is to get the lenses back in". To which I said, "it would be no more difficult than the "cheap frames". And he snuffed, "well, to be honest these are REALLY cheap frames", he stressed. What a total as! How rude was that! I don't think a sales employee should snap off to a lady and make comments on what the customer wants. Like ai really care what some southern guy thinks about fashion. They wanted $79.00 to fill my frames with single visiion lenses, no uv coatings, no scratch resistence, no anti reflection. Just "cheap" lenses. So I took my "cheap" frames and went home and ordered on eyebuydirect. Awesome experience! I got great frames with zero attitude and with uv scratch free and anti reflection coatings for $56.00. The frames are actually au currant and just what I wanted in the first place. Their staff were supper friendly and helpful, something this Green Eye place is most certainly not, except for the nice ladies at the front desk.
