This is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant with a wonderful hostess! She offered us samples of the gumbo and the crayfish bisque. Both were outstanding, but the bisque was especially splendid. It was flavorful and made with succulent crayfish. My husband ordered the bisque and grilled shrimp. The hefty portion of large shrimp was delicious. I ordered fried oysters and onion rings. The fried oysters were made exactly the way my grandmother made them. This is high praise. The onion rings were excellent. It was wonderful to take our time in this pretty restaurant with fantastic food and enjoy ourselves. The hostess was so very congenial.... and rightly proud of the food! If you happen to be anywhere near this restaurant, you ought to stop and eat here. And say, "yes" to the samples when you are asked. Service was prompt, but i would have gladly waited a long time given the great meal we had. This is a GEM of a place!

The fried oysters were way overcooked, so much so that the batter was hard to crunch and tasted like old grease. I told the lady at the counter that and I think she got offended, she said that if you order them lightly cooked they will cook them that way. Anybody that grew up on the coast will tell you oysters are NOT supposed to be fried hard as a rock. The bisque was ok although it's made with Asian crayfish. Louisiana crayfish are purged before they are cooked and packaged Asian crayfish are not and these still had that muddy taste to them. Serving overcooked oysters by thierself in a plastic basket with no sides turned the perfect atmosphere into a tourist trap atmosphere. This is a beautiful place in a really good spot, if you get offended and try to justify what's wrong instead of learning and trying to correct what's wrong then you are destined to fail. I always try a place twice before I write them off but I don't know about this place.
