Dickey's Barbecue Pit

The food was excellent, but the staffs’ response was abysmal. We were asked three times what we wanted by three different people…The only people working in the building during the busiest time of the day. After three inquiries regarding my order we were given the wrong order. Thankfully they discovered the error before we left the counter. I’ve been twice and experienced total staff failure but had excellent food. Perhaps less cell phone use, team coordination, listening to customers, and proper staffing would be beneficial.

Pretty disappointed. We ordered for delivery and were missing bbq sauces, breads and got the incorrect type of meats. That being said, we decided to eat what we had. It was brisket, turkey, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. The brisket was mostly fat and inedible, the turkey was okay and the sausage was ice cold (probably because of delivery). Without the sauce I can’t say I’d those meats again but maybe their sauce is good enough for another try. Being from Texas, we are used to actual barbecue so perhaps our standards are a bit higher but overall I give this place a 3/10 based on this last experience.

Positives : the bbq was cooked well and had a good flavor. The small ribs were tasty. They offer 3 sauces that were all delicious. Staff was courteous and helpful. Price was reasonable. And, they had help yourself soft serve vanilla ice cream for all guests. Negatives : At our table we all got waffle fries and they were very good, but the jalapeno beans had so much artificial smoke flavor that they just weren't good. Couldn't eat the spinach dip either. Very pasty. I would definitely go back again, but just be a bit more careful on the sides that we order.

We arrived at Dickeys at about 8:30 pm (near closing time) and we had the friendliest & happiest crew wait on us and prepare our meal to go, just as we wanted. It was nice to see cheerful young workers enjoying their job after a long day working. Food was delicious!!

The staff is the sweetest and recommended their favorites which was delicious. If I loved her, I probably would eat here more often
