Working with Carlos and his crew was a great experience. It was as stress-free as a home improvement project could possibly be. I answered questions, and he took care of the work. I am so pleased with how the work turned out. My kitchen looks fabulous and has a lot more storage space. I'm already thinking about my next project with Carlos and Kitchen Tune-Up.

I want my bookcase. Up to the ceiling or match the kitchen cabinets? Talk, talk, talk, talk, tax. It’s another year and still no bookcase. Maybe I’ll just buy one online and make do. No, they don’t have that built-in look. That’s too expensive. Enough of that. A year later (2021), I start asking around. My hair stylist has a large clientele, and she’s remodeled her salon. She knows people (who know people). Carlos Lloyd with Kitchen Tune-up. I hold onto his number for five months before I reach out. I’m going to get what I really want.
Carlos schedules a visit to discuss my needs and the space. We agree on the style and the price. He sends the schematic. It’s exactly what I expressed to him in our initial meeting. He will match the hardware on my kitchen cabinets. He can’t get started until July (it’s the end of May). It’s cool. I’ll take vacation that week. He sends the invoice—50, 40, 10. Surprise! He can begin the week of June 28th. Still works.
He arrives on Monday morning. The “shells” of the bookcase is built. He attaches it to the wall and ensures the molding goes around the top and bottom of the cabinet. He sands and smooths and tells me that the painter will come by in the morning. They will paint the cabinets and the shelves.
Glenn Kelly and his son arrive Tuesday morning. By the way, Carlos and Glenn are relatives. Talking to Glenn is like talking to relatives at a family reunion. I really enjoyed my conversations with him. His son is very quiet. They were with me two days, then returned later for touch-ups.
Carlos returned later in the week to attach the doors and hardware. My bookcase is so beautiful. I can’t stop looking at it. I love bookcases, and it’s exactly what I wanted.
I’ve filled it with books, knickknacks, and a couple photos. It makes me very happy to have a place, a special place, for my books.
Working with Carlos and Glenn was special experience. They remind me of family—sitting on the patio and catching up on each others’ lives.
I will hire them again. I have two more pieces I want for my home — a sofa table and a foyer table.

We had an excellent experience with Mr. Carlos Lloyd of Jackson, Mississippi Kitchen Tune-Up. From the first phone call until the last day, Mr. Lloyd listened closely to what we wanted and made it happen.
We were extremely impressed with Mr. Lloyd's superior level of communication; there was never a doubt as to when he would arrive. More impressive was his fierce attention to detail; he was careful in his measurements, and the precision with which he covered the cabinets was impeccable. We also appreciated how Mr. Lloyd protected the countertops and floors and kept the dust to a minimum, and he was quite thorough with his clean-up at the end of each day.
We decided to extend the countertop just a bit, and this required the cabinets to be extended as well. Mr. Lloyd and his assistant, Mr. Hopkins did a beautiful job on the modification. Looking at the completed work, we cannot even tell that it hasn't always been this way. We have included a before and after photo of this part of the project
Overall, we are thrilled with the progress on our kitchen remodel, and that is due in large part to Kitchen Tune-Up and Mr. Carlos Lloyd. We still have work to do before completion and we will not hesitate to do further business with them.
We cannot recommend Mr. Carlos Lloyd and Kitchen Tune-Up enough. Their customer service and workmanship are awesome!!
