The place had 6 tables worth of people, 5 servers and it still took over 15 minutes to get a drink, 30 minutes to get food and out waitress just forgot that my husband existed. It was also extremely overpriced. It would’ve been okay had they one server with the worker shortage but they had plenty of staff.

Went to Gollott’s Fresh Catch Seafood Restaurant based on recommendation of a local. I’m guessing Sunday, Sep. 26th of 2021 was the day of our visit to Gollott’s. They can confirm, since it was the day they ran out of seafood (except, shrimp - supposedly) and pretty much everything else, including spaghetti noodles and rolls. I’ll assume it’s not a regular occurrence so they shouldn’t have any trouble zeroing in on the date. First, I think we should have been informed of the extremely diminished menu choices at the hostess station immediately upon our arrival. Instead, we were escorted thru the restaurant to the deck on the back for exterior dining. The waiter advised us at our table that they had run out of all fish. Need I remind you that this is a “Fresh Catch†seafood restaurant? Then he added several other items to the list of shortages, basically leaving us with the choice of shrimp or hamburgers. I would have left, but my wife wanted to order the Shrimp and Corn Bisque. I relented and ordered the bisque, as well. My wife added the Seafood Bread appetizer at $13.95 (i.e., French bread topped with sautéed shrimp, crabmeat, bell peppers, and tomatoes in a Cajun sauce with melted mozzarella) to “fill me up†because I hadn’t eaten that day in anticipation of a good seafood lunch/dinner. We both agreed the bisque was equal to prepackaged soups we had picked up at Sam’s Club. That is, tasty, sparse on the shrimp and corn and nothing to rave about or return for in the future. The Seafood Bread was edible and “fillingâ€, period. The shrimp, what little there was, was bland and if sautéed, then sautéed must have a different meaning in Mississippi than in Tennessee. If any crabmeat existed at all in the dry to barely moist ground brown cracker crumb mixture on top of the bread, then it had somehow been “denaturedâ€, because there was no crab taste at all discernible. You could still find dried, unmixed crumbs throughout the mixture. Typically, I would have called for a manager, but my wife had recently broken an arm and was in no mood for a confrontational discourse. At the end of “our mealâ€, we awaited the reappearance of our waiter, which took some time. We were the only guest on the outside deck and inside, only the bar appeared to have any customers. Without question, upon the waiter’s return, my facial appearance and overall demeanor shouted “dissatisfactionâ€. Still, the waiter had the gall to ask if we wanted anything else! WHAT ELSE!! They were out of everything!! I got my check, wrote lengthy comments on it, paid it and left, never to return.
