We hired Brothers Construction LLC to do several remodeling jobs in our lake home in McGregor. Joshua was very quick to respond to request for estimate and seemed willing to work with our needs in a professional manner. He gave a start date for the project. That start date came and passed and I had to call 3 times to ask when they were going to start before they actually showed up. That should have been my first warning.Throughout the project there were several small things that needed to be redone as they weren't done correctly the first time. We had ordered a 4' wide by 3' tall window, single hung, for our bedroom and a 3'wide by 4' tall one was installed. The siding outside and walls inside had already been patched in to the new window so rather than ask them to take it out and do it as ordered, we told them to just forget it and leave it. In an effort to save on costs, we said we would do final painting of all new doors, windows and trim work installed by the crew. They did not leave most of the trim in paint ready form. We had to sand all of it prior to painting, and when they had to special cut trim to match what we already had, they didn't do a very good job. The edges were all left rough and square when the old trim was smooth and rounded. 6 months after a new sliding glass patio door was completed, it was winter and one door panel fogged up from an apparent leak in the sealed glass. I called the owner, Joshua, who assured me there was a warranty on the product and if it wasn't covered, he guaranteed his work with a lifetime warranty so he would get it replaced at no cost to us. We agreed to wait until spring, when weather was warmer. Spring came and I never heard from him so I called and he assured me he would be out in a week or two to take care of it. Again, he didn't show up so I texted. Altogether I texted or called on a weekly basis for about 2 months and kept getting promises he would take care of it. He finally go irritated with me and said he would get to it when he could, he had a business to run and I was making a big deal out of it. I told him then the only reason I kept calling was because he kept telling me he would get it taken care of next week, in a week, etc. Finally in June of 2023, after 8 months of assurances he would take care of it, Josh replied to a text from me asking when he would get it fixed that he decided it wasn't his job to fix it. It was a product deficiency and I had to contact the store/manufacturer to ask them for a replacement. It wasn't his work that was deficient, but the product. He then told me if the store/manufacturer wouldn't install it I could HIRE him to put the new one in. I was totally flabbergasted and asked him why he told me for 8 months he would take care of it and all of sudden he decided not to. He has never answered that question. I would caution anyone to think twice about hiring this company

As the work was being done on our house the city inspector happened to drive by and notice the work being done. Inspector found that that the appropriate permits were not pulled by the contractor which lead to the inspector discovering that they are not licensed to do any of the work they were doing. They say they are working under another contractors license but it was confirmed by inspector after talked to said contractor that it is not true.

Great crew, always friendly and Joshua is the best to have as a contractor. He communicate’s and is straight forward with the home owners. Makes the whole process less stressful for the home owner and you know he really cares about the final outcome as much as you do. Wouldn’t hire anyone else.
