M Health Fairview Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Im a nurse and called 911 per providers orders for the safety of our patient. EMTs arrived and I got spoken to in a very condescending way for clogging up their system. The gentleman was working the night of 12/17/21. He rolled his eyes at me when I gave him the medical history of a patient as if it didnt matter. Very unprofessional and narcissistic in nature.

Not sure of the paramedics names who helped me during a recent crisis I had on Sunday May 26th in the late evening but they were amazing. I was in excruciating pain due to recent back surgery and was having an extreme anxiety attack at the same time because I was stuck half way in and half way out of my moms car as she was trying to get me to the hospital. You all came to my rescue and got me calmed down enough so you could all help by grabbing me in different spots and lifting me into the car with trying to cause as least amount as pain as possible. You all were wonderful!!! If it wasn't for you all I wouldn't have made it to the hospital that night!!! You suggested I go to untied hospital as it was closer then my chosen hospital and I couldn't have been happier with the care I received at untied I got right back into a room and was given treatment within minutes of arriving which never would have happened if I had gone to the hospital I had originally wanted to go to! Thank you for being there in my crisis. I know there wasn't much more you could do for me but know you did so much more then I could have even imagined and I'm so grateful to have had you there that night!!!

One of the EMT's was the most insulting, aggressive, confrontational people. In a time of stress he threatened to leave me behind simply because I couldn't answer the question "How did my mother get this way having dementia." My mother had to be forcibly removed from the house due to her confusion which his aggressive nature added to. I will never look at EMT's as being compassionate or empathetic again. EVER! I only wish I had gotten his name - but the fact that not any other EMT reined him in or offered anything to calm things - I blame them all.
