Insul-Seal Home Insulation

Communication at first was challenging - I attempted contact because they were a "certified" installer with MN Energy Resources. The voice mailbox was full - so MN Energy Resources contacted them. At first, Matt was very friendly on the phone - quotes were very confusing. I did hire them to spray foam my attic that was accessible by walk-in (north-facing roof), and spray cellulose insulation in the other portion (south-facing). They were to remove old insulation, debris etc as well as plastic off areas to prevent over-spray. They were to also access the eaves portion via the attic (cut back or lift up the 1/4 inch panel on the floor surface..as depicted to them by paperwork from the energy audit by the resource agency. The spray foam is very uneven - some areas way thick - and other areas quite thin. There are gaps where it should be sealed up - The sunroom that was done had so much overspray it damaged items out there, and I also had to cut back with a multi-tool flat blade extensive hard foam off the joists so we could finish the ceiling and walls. One of the rooms in the main house, northeast corner, would not hold a temp above about 52 degrees this January to early March. I ultimately removed the paneling in there to try and discover why. The eaves area was NOT spray-foamed. The old insulation had not been removed from the attic side, and definite cold air was felt in the top ceiling outer wall area. I have phoned them. I have emailed them. I have had MN Energy Resources speak with them. They do not return calls or emailis. I feel as a widow I am being taken advantage of. My bill was around $8000!!! I suspect the entire north-facing eaves area is like this. Oh, not to mention, they also damaged my upstairs handrail I had just finished and installed new.

Matt and his crew were extremely helpful, courteous, and professional. We got our whole attic vapors sealed, updated to R50, and also got a huge part of our house that wraps around. They showed up right when Matt said they would ready to go, they laid down plenty of protective material to prevent the carpet from getting dirty, and then cleaned up better than I did before they came. The work was done so well, we were able to notice the difference immediately. Matt had all the rebate paperwork ready for me so all I had to do was fill on my address, sign it, and throw in a envelope to be mailed out. Great job, would highly recommend for any insulation job.

We used Insul-Seal for helping to improve insulation in our 1940s house and it has provided a vast improvement for the comfort in our house. Matt and his team were very responsive, took time to answer questions, helped to fill out rebate paperwork, and more. I'd highly recommend using them for insulation work.

Very happy with the attic insulation install. Very thorough and professional. Great price compared to other companies we got quotes from. Would totally recommend them.
