Stay away from ths particular bank if all possible. It will close one's account without notification and warning and without justifiable cause. The bank leaves it up to the customer to find out that his account is closed. It wants the customer to wait for his account balance check for the funds in the account at the time of account closure to be mailed to him instead of he simply going to a branch to get his money. Whenever one files a dispute, it leaves it up to the customer to resolve the dispute. You, at the end, simply lose money. It would rather close a customer's account instead of trying to resolve account disputes. It charges one overdraft fees if his account has a negative balance and from transactions that cause the account to become negative, even if it is not his or her fault and he opted out of overdraft protection at the time that the account is opened. The people who work at TCF Bank does not care about its customers. This particular bank is not helpful with providing any other types of financial services one may need. As for most bank, the standards are set so high where only people at the top of the financial ladder or of a certain socioeconomic status will qualify. This bank is good for virtually NOTHING. There are better financial institutions out there than TCF Bank and, if one does his reasearch, it certainly won't be hard to find one.
