    Nice apartments

Ordinarily I am a calm individual, but after years of living here and watching things go from bad to worse, I can no longer sit idly by without warning others of the perils of this establishment. First off, don't listen to the posted prices of renting. They are in truth way higher than this. So much so, that individuals who have lived here for 20+ years and are on a fixed income can no longer afford the rent even though the amenities have gotten worse (to which I will touch on later). An elderly woman who lives here went to management and said the $30 increase yearly is beyond her means. They brushed her off and didn't care. Is this how Thies and Talle treats their loyal residents? There are many people leaving for this reason. They cannot keep the apartments leased. So they let random people do 30 day leases. These people generally sign a lease for one to 2 people, but have their entire friend group live with them to afford rent. Does management care? Nope. Yet the grandmother who has her granddaughter stay with her over the summer in a THREE BEDROOM apartment has to jump through hoops just to have another MINOR stay there. The ventilation is awful. Mold on the ceiling and in the toilets. The bathroom fans run 24/7 as well. There are bugs living in the bricks and the trim. You have to complain 3+ times before they deal with it. When something electric breaks, they have their non-certified maintenance men just handle it. Not only illegal but dangerous. They're lucky the whole place hasn't burned. Though there was a fire at one of their other buildings a few years ago (electrical fire) where a young woman died. We had to petition the management to fix the potholes which were so bad you nearly broke the axel on your car. I wish I were exaggerating. We have to beg to get the lawn mowed. They pay for your basic cable, but the insulation is so bad you're utility bill for a 2 bedroom apartment is over $200 which is more than the cable. This puts the price similar to Twin Cities prices yet with NO amenities. No washer and dryer unless you want to pay $2 for each tiny machine each load. Security cameras don't work and if something is stolen they shrug it off. No outdoor area for kids to play. Noisy and rude neighbors who don't clean up their trash? If you complain nothing happens. This morning a resident seems to have had enough and put up a note outlining ways to be considerate of neighbors. They not only tore them down, but sent out a notice saying that this was not ok and should not be done. This person got fed up with the lack of action and dealt with it themselves. A young man read his and told me he felt this is something that should have been put up by management in the first place, not reprimanded. At the soonest opportunity I am leaving this establishment and will never return. I suggest you stay far away.
