Northern Breezes Sailing School

It's basically a license mill. Took a 4 day ASA class and spent almost all of it docking, even though it's advertised as a coastal cruising trip. The instructor/owner is half senile and just feeds you the answers to the test at the end without actually teaching or making sure you understand anything. Extremely unprofessional communication with last minute emails and the teacher taking phone calls in the middle of classes.

My 8 and 10 year old kids took basic dinghy last year (1 week, half day). They loved it and want to do sailing camp again.

My family and I had a fantastic experience with Northern Breezes Sailing School getting certified to Bareboat Charter. Tom (the owner) and his team were very accommodating and communicative leading up to our trip. Guy Wray was our instructor and he was terrific. He engaged my 2 boys (8 and 10) and my wife in the experience in a way that made it fun and educational. Guy's persistent anglo/aussie humor was fun and we understood many of his jokes. Guy reviewed every single answer that I had wrong on the 3 written tests and made sure that I understood the material. I truly feel confident in my ability to skipper a boat as a result of the on the boat and written training. I highly recommend this experience to anyone serious about bareboat chartering sailboats.
