Not Safe- packages getting stolen constantly - First: my apartment is pretty new and clean. That is that. - But:There are some issues that makes it difficult living here, particularly if you have many deliveries. 1. During the five months I have been here, my packages have gotten stolen twice. The first time I complained, the manager told me, it is very rare and in the last month only two people complained about stolen packages !!!!! Like it is OK. 2.. This time they told me there is nothing they can do, unless I file a polis report so they can check the camera. So here we go. The said they are doing whatever they can but there is nothing they can do. 3. There was another instance, someone had been filling the report because some items were stolen from inside his unite. Although I am not sure how the situation ended up. 4. In the first day, they told me there are Luxer one boxes so there is no issue with our mails, but Amazon don't put items in there. I talked to Amazon and they said they cannot currently do anything about it. There is no option to ask them put things in the Luxer boxes. So don't count on it. 5. The second time Amazon told me a receptionist had received the packages. We don't have any receptionist here. It is scary. 6. And worse, there was another package that was torn like someone was checking if it is useful for them or not. I have couple of torn packages too. 7. There is a management room but no one is there, so don't be fooled. 8. They rent their units to Airbnb so you don't know who is coming and going. 9. This time I have filed a report. But I am not a sure how it will end up. Will see.

This was the strangest hotel I've ever stayed at.This building is both a hotel, and an apartment complex.  I booked a room here on Expedia, and the description made it sound like I was booking a hotel room. The good things I can say about this place was the room was neat and clean and had a full kitchen (which I always appreciate), and the price was the lowest price in the twin cities for a hotel room that wasn't in a total dive or bad part of town. The bad things, well this is going to be a list.1. The parking is absolutely awful.  There's no parking garage, or any kind of parking lot.  You have to compete with others for parking on the street.  When I got here, I had to drive around for 30 minutes just to find a parking spot.  When I got a spot anywhere near the door, I didn't want to have to leave again because I knew I wouldn't have good parking like that.  It would have been worth the $10/night more to stay at the Residence Inn some of my colleagues stayed at just for the decent parking.  It's inconvenient for a week-long business trip. . .the idea of living here with parking like that would be beyond intolerable.2. There's no front desk that is staffed, or housekeeping, or any other of the features or amenities you might expect from even a bad hotel.  After I checked in, there was a sign saying you needed to download their app to speak with customer service. . .so they've outsourced desk clerks at this hotel to some app.  When I was looking for a good place to eat nearby, normally I'd ask the staff at the front desk. . .but someone at an outsourced contact center in an app isn't going to know if the restaurant down the street is any good or not.  The furniture in the room was minimalist. . .it's the first time I've stayed in a hotel in many years that didn't have an alarm clock, or a local directory, and they didn't have any kind of drawers to store my clothes in either.  The complimentary coffee by the coffee maker didn't have decaf either.  Also, in terms of lacking typical hotel amenities, there's no breakfast service.  If they're running this place as a hotel too, they skimp out on a lot of features to bring in that bargain price.3. I don't think this building was built very well.  I can sit here and see cracks and peeling in the drywall.  Looking around with a discerning eye, I can see all kinds of little signs they cut corners on the construction.  This is a tiny studio apartment being rented as a hotel room, and the idea of living in this tiny space for more than the short stay I'm here would drive me mad.I would not recommend this place to stay, either as a hotel room or an apartment.

I lived at Modi for 2 years. Management is always very kind and helpful. Affordable for luxury apartments in a prime location. Nice common areas, and building is clean and secure. 5 minutes from uptown, downtown, eat street, chain of lakes. Great experience!

My fianc and I lived here the past year and it has been pleasant. The unit itself is modern, clean, and affordable. I love the luxer system and our apartment manager. Jessica has been great and helpful. when we first moved here we had a small 24hr free coffee, tea, hot cocoa machine that would always run out of hot cocoa, Jessica noticed this and replaced it with an even bigger and better system so I would never run out of my hot cocoa haha. it also has more speciality drinks. I have garage parking and never had any troubles. Modi is also right next door to the wedge so for those Minnesota cold snowy nights when you dont want to drive and risk your life, you can literally just walk over to the grocery store and purchase some food. The people who live in modi are friendly as well.
