Chief Concepts LLC got a later than planned start on my deck, they shattered a window and ripped a screen on another window in the process of taking down my old deck, but finally finished the deck 5 weeks after starting it. Upon completion, Kevin immediately called for final payment. We agreed that he would accept as payment in full the balance due on the contract less the cost of replacing the window and screen they had broken, which I would take care of getting replaced. That was August 30th. The first week of November, I got a certified letter from an attorney in St. Paul, who was representing the building supply company - Chief Concepts had NEVER paid them for the decking materials even though that was part of the contract. I had a lien placed on my home. As I read the recent reviews of Chief Concepts, and how he is taking sizeable down payments from people for projects and then disappearing, I feel lucky to have my deck. My advise to others - stay far far away from this scam artist!

Like so many others lately, Chief Concepts took our money and ran.  We gave Kevin 1/2 down as required for our project in November and have since then been fighting to get that back.  I won't go into details but lets just say it's been a horrible experience and caused us lots of stress and sleepless nights. His company according to the BBB is no longer in existence.  He was originally on Home Advisors as a recommended contractor and has since been removed.  I wish all that have been swindled by him the best of luck getting your hard earned money back.

We got a quote of a complete bathroom remodel for our home in St Paul Midway on 10/7/19, was a total of $19800.00 and he required half of a down payment. Oddly high, but it is now 9 weeks later on 12/17/2019 and he has yet to contact us by phone or show up and start the project, after he cashed our check on 10/8/2019, the day after we wrote it. He responded minimally through a text message after we had to threaten to get our money back and move forward with someone else. He would say he would be there the next couple days and start and bring his framer and plumber and not one person has shown up to start the project. We said the final day to show up for the job would be TODAY, 12/17/2019. When he yet again didn't show up at 8am, we told him we wanted our money back immediately. He blocked our calls and text messages and won't respond. We drove out to 2 of his addresses listed on our paperwork and they are NOT HIS BUSINESSES. They are completely someone else's businesses, he is a FRAUD, A THIEF, A SCAM/CON artist, he never even pulled our building and plumbing permits in order to start the job we paid him half down to complete. He told us he didn't need to do that until the job was completed. DO NOT TRUST THIS FAT THIEF, Kevin clearly is no CHIEF, he should rename his shady business as THIEF CONCEPTS. His contract falsely advertises his shop/office @ 7707 Central Ave NE, Spring Lake Park, but hes got a little hole in the wall , room,  at the end of the block of 1177 Birch Lake Blvd N., White Bear Lake where you have to go all the way down to the North end of the pole barns where many other businesses exist and knock on the door with C2 on it, there is no company title on the outside anywhere to be found. There you can walk right in and meet this pathetic human being and demand your money back, but we also called the police to the scene and they said he lives in NORTH OAKS,MN where the median houses cost over $500,000.00 Kevin said he had no money to give back to us. Because he owes so many other victims of his abuse, money and services and can't perform. His company has no morals or ethics, they do not follow through on anything. His contractors look like they just came out of prison with horrible jail tattoos, screaming for attention. The police were very helpful and said anyone who's been a victim of his abuse should just sue the hell out of him. They could take his house and belongings, and close down his scam of a business ASAP. Contact us @ 612.406.8182 for any leads or to be part of the lawsuit we just filed! We've found so many new complaints from him in the last 3 months and he's totally scammed people for about $40-50K so far that we could see. Stand up and fight for your self or let this monster take you for a ride. He may run with your money, but he can't hide!
