The owner is super nice. He even gave me a tire one time. His prices are good and if the fix is just a simple thing loose crew and so, he ll just not charge u. His dog too is nice.

Our first experience will not be our last. The owner is incredibly personable. If you want to get great deals on sporting equipment, this is a great local place to support.

Like all great bike shops, Flying Penguin is part museum as well as part showroom and workshop. It was a pure delight to make the owner's acquaintance two weeks ago at the Key City Bike bicycle donation drive, which he was kind enough to host in his parking lot, during which Key City accepted donations of upwards of 30 used bicycles in every imaginable condition. He even let us borrow a couple of tools so we could get one of the better donations in good enough shape to ride around the block, and gave us all a chance to ride his Dutch Gazelle with front and rear drum brakes and Sturmey-Archer combination drum brake/3-speed hub. Riding that heavy, smooth, and sweet machine around beneath the stormy sky is probably the closest I will ever come (at least I hope!) to having my very own Wicked Witch of the West moment.
