I was quoted the price to fix the pipe and then I authorized that work. When he was done and turned the water back on, he wanted to replace the valve in an old toilet because he thought it ran slowly (it is old, but it works just fine), and then he aslo replaced some other parts that I had replaced myself in the last year and paid less than $10 for the parts. No upfront cost estimate or info, didn't ask me, i didn't authorize it and frankly, it didn't have to be done because the toilet ran just fine. Additional cost of $131! For parts I know cost less than $20! I questioned it and he claimed that was the cost of the parts (hardly). He offered a "discount" but I just wanted him out before he fixed anything else that didn't need fixing. So beware! Update: I was not having a bad day. I simply expect a quote for costs before work is performed. This is not unreasonable and was how the rest of the service was performed. Even as new parts were being replaced in my toilet, I said that those were new parts and didn't need replacing. The toilet worked fine and I said that several times. But it was fixed anyway. Additionally, he was 75 minutes late. I did get a call at 15 minutes late and he said he was running 30 minutes late. And I was told everyone gets a pie for the call (which is odd and unnecessary). But I didn't get that either (nor do I want it now). This is an honest review, and I do not appreciate the snarky response. Yes, I told him to leave and stop fixing things, which is a reasonable response to someone fixing things without authorization. I paid him for everything. His response is just as unprofessional as the service. If I had gotten the estimated cost upfront, I would have declined the service, bought the parts, and done it myself as I have done for years on various toilets. I was not given the opportunity, which is my complaint. Service: Plumbing leak detection
