What a fantastic watchmaker! He definitely knows what he's talking about. I brought in a watch with an ETA 2895 movement that was running +23s a day, and he immediately knew what the issue was. I also had a watch battery replaced, and he checked the gaskets--like you're supposed to but very few battery replacement places do--to ensure they were in good shape. He even knew where the stem of a watch with an ETA 2824 just needed a touch of oil when the crown action felt a bit sticky. Whether mechanical or quartz, I wouldn't hesitate at all to bring my watches to Metropolitan. I'll be bringing my watches to him for maintenance for the foreseeable future.
