TCF Bank

I was surprised how quick it was to get a cashiers check. Really courteous and professional staff. They answered all my questions about cashiers check. I like that you can walk in and don’t need to make an appointment in advance! I would definitely recommend!

This place is a joke. I went to cash a $100 check and Indra the teller first tell me then in order to cash the check it will be a $4 dollars fee. When I say why, she say just to give me the money; I say fine with the $4 then she goes and say it will be a 20 minutes waiting for just cashing a check at the window, a check from this bank. Stay away of TCF Bank. They should not be in banking business if they don't know what are they doing. There are way more banks with great customer service and no fees and way more efficient then TCF. Stay away!

I have been a TCF customer for as long as I can remember, but I have recently had two absolutely horrible experiences... 1. Shortly after my husband and I got married (December 2017), we opened a joint checking account. For some reason, my name was mysteriously taken off the account without my knowledge in March 2020. I did not find this out until I went to print off bank statements to apply for a Real ID and realized my name was not showing up. I stopped by the office and nobody knew what happened. The manager said she would follow up with me later in the week, took down my cell phone number, and I still haven't heard anything (nearly 2 months later). 2. We were just charged a $37 overdraft fee because they took nearly 1 week to process my husband's paycheck (new total was showing up in digital banking app almost right away, but wasn't processing), but 2 days to process my credit card payments. We are switching banks immediately. Very frustrated.
