image Went to go get a mower belt, they were very helpful and polite. They had the belt on hand.

image If you are at all able, avoid this unethical business at all costs and find a different authorized service location to do your repairs. I wish I had looked into what another reviewer called their peculiar billing practices a bit more. Doing a bit of research and looking at their reviews, their behavior of neglecting to inform customers of extremely overpriced diagnostic charges and then, when warranties inevitably dont cover repairs, holding customers equipment hostage until they pay is a longstanding pattern of predatory business behavior that needs to be called out. The sales rep at the service counter actually laughed at us while we were talking to the mechanic running the repair center. This was an insulting experience all around, but that degree of contempt was something else. Companies like this that rely on entrapping customers using their monopoly as dealers with authorized service certs are common, but Hutson are clearly very good at exploiting their position. In true corporate PR fashion they then retroactively go for damage control by responding to negative comments, either blaming the customer or apologizing and asking the reviewer to contact them (seriously just look through their past negative reviews).
If they actually cared about their customers and customer satisfaction, theyd try to prevent these clearly VERY common situations, but theres a lot more money in their racket than in being an ethical business, being up front about their charges, and relying on their work to speak for them.

image Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Took my small riding mower in for maintenance. They charge something like $120/hr to diagnose the problem. Was charged over $500 for routine maintenance, a new battery, and changing a line to charge the battery. Used tractor one time and it wouldn't start again. Called to see if they would check under warranty, brought it back over. They said the battery was dead and that was the only issue. I was charged another $180 for that "service" call.
Update: The owner response shows how bad this company is. It sat for two months because when I called at the beginning of March 21 for service they said they were way behind and didnt call me until July 21 and therefore I had hired a company to mow. By the time I picked up the mower it was late July. I used it once, then when I went to start it a second time it wouldnt turn over. I didnt realize it was out of gas sure, but if that was the case and the battery needed to be charged that would be a simple fix not a $180 bill. Even the service guy at the counter was embarrassed. Blaming the customer and an old mower is a poor business practice. Bottom line is Im $750 in for a new battery terminal, a battery, and some gasoline. Id recommend looking elsewhere for service, maintenance, etc.
