For those of you complaining...Most cities do not have ANY animal shelter services. Heck, westland didn't have any animal control for a long time! Wayne is a very small city. It makes sense their operation is scaled back. We've found every interaction with the officer gentleman to be kind, courteous and genuine. He is very helpful!

Disappointing when your city cannot help with the task it has an office and officer for... The friendly, female, feral cat just had her second litter of kittens here. I called right after the first litter... I cannot keep her or afford to get her fixed. I was told I would be placed on a "list" for when she could be taken and found a home. That was three + months ago. Wayne wonders why they have an explosion of their feral population... this office is one of the reasons.

Last winter when it was below zero I called Wayne animal control on my neighbor, fearing her cats would freeze to death because she left them outside all the time. Wayne animal control officer responded quickly, making them take those cats inside. Its a shame our city cant afford to hire him additional help, due to irresponsible pet owners, our stray cat population is booming. -then mayb the faculty could be open for adoptions more, but the officer cant be out rescuing animals and running the shelter at the same time.
