Several years ago after the 2008 crash, I was taken advantage of by a Tax Professional who after I paid thousands of dollars to left me high dry. Mr. Wolf helped me straighten out my devistating situation with compassion and effeciency almost immediately trying to help make up for all of my financial losses. I have used his office for my taxes and back tax case every since. As it has been difficult for me to recover from that time, he has made the process simple and affordable for me every year thereafter. I strongly recommend Wolf Tax not only to those who have tax issues, but to anyone for their yearly tax care where you're person, not a number.

Wolf Tax, lead by Evan Wolf, has provided my family and I professional tax services. Evan is very thorough in his preparation of our taxes and very accessible for conversations. He goes above and beyond to explain anything that we have questions about as well.

In 2018 I was under contract to sell a home and realized there was a tax lien on the property. I called Wolf Tax & was assured he would obtain a release of lien in time for the closing. At the initial interview, I remember discussing both the State and Federal tax liens against my property. Unfortunately I only signed paperwork that referred to the IRS lien. Still, I have a clear memory of discussing this with Mr. Wolf and believed it was being handled. Also, Mr. Wolf was sent the title work on my property about 10 days prior to closing, which showed the State lien. I do not know for certain but I believe he never looked at the titlework. During all this, I found that Mr. Wolf did not return phone calls, emails or texts. In fact, I believe he ONLY returned 2 phone calls directly to me during the entire time I dealt with him. My Realtor also expressed frustration with Mr. Wolf, as she had attempted to reach him multiple times for a status. The day before my closing, at 4:00 p.m. I received a frantic call from my Realtor. She had just heard from the title company that the State lien had not been addressed. She, the title company, and the buyer's agent had been attempting to contact Mr. Wolf for much of that day. He did not respond. I also called and left him several frantic messages and texts. He did not respond. At 4:55 p.m. I finally got through to the State's offices, and put the lien on a credit card. A few weeks after that, Mr. Wolf contacted me to see if I wanted to continue the process of reducing my debt with the IRS. We had a contentious discussion over the fee he was charging me to continue and this dispute had to to do with the fact that Mr. Wolf negotiated a higher than quoted fee ($1,000) for his services with the IRS and after negotiations with the IRS case manager was granted somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,600 from the closing's proceeds, the extra was to go toward the additional $2,000 for handling negotiations with the IRS of the remainder of my debt. In other words, Mr. Wolf negotiated a higher fee for himself, but never ONCE addressed the State tax lien with the IRS agent, which SHOULD have been negotiated as part of the closing statement funds. If he had simply done his due diligence, the State tax lien could have been paid out of the proceeds of the sale and the remainder could have gone to the Feds. But he failed in this. Utterly and completely. He seemed only concerned with his fee. Afterward, he refused to put the additional $600 toward the $2,000 quoted to handle the remainder of my debt with the Feds, but he did issue me a small "refund" after he refused to represent me further when I insisted he do this. On multiple occasions I requested an itemized bill for his services. I never received one, and my emails were ignored. Further, Mr. Wolf told me that the State of Michigan did not have an Offer and Compromise program. 3 days ago I discovered that the State has had this program since 2015. I have been sending the State additional money every month in an effort to pay off that entire debt, and delaying seeking another home purchase, all because of Mr. Wolf's statement. I decided to post an initial review of my experience with Wolf Tax. Since posting that initial review, I have received 2 harassing emails from Mr. Wolf. In the latest one he is threatening to sue me simply for speaking about my experience with him. So, allow me to please amend this review so that it removes any embellishments that might find me in court: it is my sole opinion that Mr. Wolf's representation of me was less than acceptable on multiple fronts. I believe Google reviews should be guideposts for consumers - and, as I hired Mr. Wolf based solely on his reviews here, I felt it necessary for the public good to give an honest account of my experience with Mr. Wolf. I do not wish the man harm, I only wish that he had represented me with the same attention he appeared to give others here who've left glowing reviews. And, as I believe he is now harassing me, I will be filing a grievance with the State's Grievance Commission.
