I have done business with owner's brother -HOVIG ..on a promise of these business owners and got cheated along with at least 5 other wholesalers in Michigan totaling half million dollars. HOVIG is absconding and when I approached..' PRALANTA FINE JEWELRY & TIMEPIECES'.. OWNERS..they backed out... AND trying to protect him. Our business is based on trust 100% on Jewelry store owners WORD and so is community in and around TROY for requirements of a reliable jewelry business. I'm a longtime resident of TROY and intends to protect the interests of community as this BUSINESS OWNER.. is .. NOT A HONEST & DEPENDABLE BUSINESS.

I didn't heed the warning reviews, and should have. I had my wedding ring made here for 10 times the actual value of the ring, which they quoted and I didn't mind because I value artistic workmanship. They refused to to show me a mold of the ring before making it, and when I came in it was not what I had expected. The setting was wrong, they used a cheaper quality of gold, and the stone color was wrong. When I asked if they would fix the setting, the jeweler seemed visibly annoyed. After accepting the ring (because we had to pay in full before seeing it), stones from the pavé kept falling out. I brought it back in twice, in the first two months of having the ring, before the staff was so rude to me that I took it to another jeweler to have the ring entirely fixed. I really regret buying anything from this establishment.

I was referred to Prlanta by a friend and have used them once before and was very happy. My second experience was when I recently asked them if they could fix a broken ring that was my mothers who passed away in 2007. I thought the ring was just costume jewelry but it had sentimental value to me. He told me was that it was actual silver and that it was just tarnished. He said he understood my sentimental attachment and that he would remake the shank, no worries and would have it done in a few days. Well, I picked it up yesterday....and it was gorgeous!! It didn't look like the same ring! It was brilliant, shiny and looked brand new, as if no work had been done to it. I truly didn't expect such amazing craftsmanship. Absolute quality work, hands down. My friend (who referred me to them) was waiting in the car and when I showed her the ring, she was in absolute disbelief! She loved it too! In addition to my great experiences here, the staff are polite and attentive. I will refer them to my friends and co-workers without a doubt and will continue to give them my business. Love them!!

Heidi provided exceptional service and gave me some awesome ideas on future gifts for my wife. The rings I took in to be cleaned this visit were returned to me looking like new within 15 minutes. I will definitely continue shopping with them for future jewelry needs.

These are really fantastic people... I needed to have a few batteries for my watches and I was taken care of it was nice that day.. Great Folks !
