My wife and I live in TC and recently took a two day 'staycation' to relax and enjoy our hometown. Our room at the Park Place was on the 8th floor of the tower facing the bay and overlooking downtown, so the views both day and night were terrific. We ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel and spent the days playing tourist. Everything about our stay was terrific! Our room was comfortable and clean, and provided everything we needed for our stay including blazing fast internet.
Minerva's (the hotel restaurant) was cheerful and fwell patronized. They have an awesome happy hour between 4-6pm. Our food was hot and tasty and the drinks hit the spot. Armaondo, the bar manager, made a point of checking in, and when a hiccup in the kitchen delayed our dinner, he treated us to a round on him. Mark, our server, was a hoot. Very affable and kept everything fun. Minerva's also does a great breakfast and we left there more than satisfied. The breakfast servers were quick, friendly, and our coffee cups never got below half full. Really on the ball.
Amy, the hotel manager, was very visible throughout our stay, whether at the front desk or roaming through the restaurant in the evening, and she chatted with us on several occasions to make sure all was well and that we had what we needed. She and her entire staff were super friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a nightcap in the Beacon Lounge on the top floor and WOW! what a great spot. Because the Park Place is the tallest building downtown, the views from the top are incredible. A very laid back vibe with a well-stocked bar and a super friendly server who chatted with us as we enjoyed our drinks.
Simply put, the Park Place was awesome. We were there to relax and have fun, and we did. We highly recommend the Park Place and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
