As a former foster license holder, my experiences were mixed. However, it was never because the staff didn’t want the absolute best for the children. The laws and policies towards foster parents causes a lot of mixed experience, which has nothing to do with the agency itself. There is a lot of turnover, but that’s normal in this industry - it’s a hard one to work in.

Family and Community services was so good to us while we worked with them for about a year and a half. Amy Z. is wonderful to work with and everyone is so friendly and helpful. We would definitely go through F&CS again if the time ever comes.

Very disappointed with our experience. In the almost 2 years of having our fully approved license and home study, They did not call us with ANY potential placements. Absolutely devastated that this did not work out. We had so much to offer a child and because the agency was inept, a child is still without a family. The system is so so broken in Michigan. I will be writing a letter to the state of Michigan to voice my concerns. This agency like many others are funded by the state (you and me as taxpayers) and they should know when an agency is not performing. Tragic....do NOT use this agency. Wasted two years with them.
