We learned so much here! The interpretive signs explain the need for the locks, how they were engineered, built and run. We also learned some interesting facts about the great lakes region in general. There are nice bathrooms here, which we appreciated.

One day before Thanksgiving, we knew the center closed. We expected there was a ship. But unfortunately there was no ship.. We figured out that the center closed meant not many ships.

Very neat to see a ship transition 21 feet to bypass rapids. The visitor center has a lot of information about the history of the locks. Only thing I had to ask about was how long it took to fill or empty the locks. It was a neat experience
