Had dinner last night (10:30) at the bar. There was live performance (super nice ensamble playing in a tight corner under a huge plasma TV showing a football game no one seemed interested on watching). The menu is quite pricey; salads start at $17.95 and the wines by the glass start at $10 I had the salmon salad. It was fresh and crunchy but unfortunately the dressing was too much and too salty. I asked if they have half salads, I was told “yes” so I ordered the salmon salad (on paper $17.95) with a glass of Italian white wine -cannot recall- (a 5oz at $10). It was served with a nice bucket of baguette cuts and Italian bread sticks to dip in parsley-olive-oil. When I asked for the check I was given a full salad price at a discount of $2 over listed price. (Total with tax was $27.50). When I inquired the barman about the mistake (I can expect 1/2 salad to not be approximately half the price, say perhaps $9.95) because I was charged $15.95 (a $2 discount) I was told upon given the bill that they do not offer half salads. I protested that I was told YES before I ordered to what the waiter, now with the assistance of his partner who came to assist and to understand what was the issue, indicated that he couldn’t heard me when I ordered (?! What?!) So I was polite enough not to make a scene and agreed to pay the asking price. Tip was $1.50 for incredible poor service. In retrospect to the owner, my waiter was also the waiter for P. (Full name omitted; a frequent customer he told me) who ordered another draft beer. The waiter did not remember what Paul was drinking. Now, this might not be a real issue if the bar was full of people but frankly, with only a few of us -7 in his side and 5 on her (other waiter) side- I was appalled by it. Granted, it might not be a requirement for a waiter to memorize each customer taste and order but, if the draft beers are priced differently, what was this customer going to pay for his previous beer? Aren’t waiters supposed to keep logs of what customers order? Awful customer service in front of frequent customer and new -never be back I promise you that- one. Will not recommend anyone to go there although they have valet parking service (a plus) I did not use it.

We came out for brunch, on Mother’s Day. Our waitress was friendly. However we ordered blood Mary’s from the Bloody Mary bar which our waitress told us she would make, she came back about five minutes later and said they want us to make them, she will go get our glasses, with the vodka. Five minutes later we had our glasses, but apparently they had put pickle juice instead of vodka. Ugh. They do offer a variety of side options for the bloody Mary’s. The bottomless Mimosas are delicious. We had the filet and eggs, also delicious. Another issue, we sat next to a table of five; four people received and ate their food before the fifth person received her SALAD. *update: just I sent watched the bartender touch every one of the shrimp in the Bloody Mary bar, eww. *update #2: had to ask multiple times for our bill.
