This Dr. come into the waiting room upset about what I do not know or care to know. All I know is he was yelling at me and saying there is nothing wrong with me( never met me a day in his life). Telling the Dr. I asked to see a surgeon (him) didn’t bring my disc because they never asked me to. But repeated over and over again that there’s nothing wrong with me in front of everyone ppl like this should not be Dr. and have other people lives in there hands. I just walked out because I felt I was talking to some animal in the streets. I will never go back to this hospital they treat ppl like we are beneath them and can talk to use any type of way. ( let me be clear this was our first appointment and he never even seen me Ever)

Dr. Grain has been amazing for me. I was in a car accident that severely damaged my spine. I have no embarrassment in saying that I had issues with holding my bladder, terrible neck and back pain, and severe weakness in both hands with burning numbness and other painful problems. I was really scared for the first surgery, especially since one of the pre-op nurses didn't catch I was on Meloxicam five days prior to the surgery. Dr. Grain postponed because he didn't want to continue and put me at unnecessary risk. Did it inconvenience him and his team? I'm sure. I was all prepped and just about to go under. But he cares a great deal about his patients and wouldn't put me at risk from not being off the blood thinner long enough for him to feel comfortable. The discectomy went well and the scar looks good. My second surgery was less than a month ago, where he opted to put a cage in my lower spine instead of screws and rods, which unbeknownst to him at the time, I was rather mortified at the thought of the latter. I am currently recovering and when miscommunications happened with those handling my prescriptions for mobility, he went out of his way to make it right. I'm in a lot of pain, but he's helping me manage it with proper medication and doses. He's always checking up on me to make sure I'm doing well, calling in between my appointments to see him and just catching up, making sure the home nurses are doing as they should for me. He even explains things to me better than my own research and lawyers at times, which helps a lot. I feel safe and secure with him, cared for and looked after. If I have any problem at all, even if it's "normal" and me being paranoid like drainage, he still lets me come in to see him or gives me a call to hear in my own words what's going on. Right now it's the physical therapy that's the hardest for me and he did up my medication when he felt it was indeed needed. Dr. Grain is careful to not over-prescribe and I highly appreciate that as opposed to some doctors that prescribe a pill to fix everything, often without double-checking interactions and expecting nurses and assistants to do it. Dr. Grain isn't like that. I can honestly say my experiences with him as my doctor, as my surgeon, have been wonderful. Coming from me, this is a HUGE compliment. I have fibromyalgia and have had bad experiences with doctors all my life because of the pain and trying to explain it, especially before being diagnosed finally. Dr. Grain has never made me feel awkward or shamed or judged, especially when it comes to pain management. I recommend his care to everyone. Update: 5/10/2021 The above was posted two months after my second surgery. It was shortly after that where I had a different type of pain. I was told it was normal. However, three years later here I am having to have this surgery all over again. I misunderstood that there would be ZERO securing of the cage in my spine. I thought that the no screws and rods was a benefit and meant that the cage would be secured in another manner of tethering. I was wrong. I've been in terrible pain since and shortly after my review of good words, I felt.. written off. I was told this was normal. It's not normal. He said it was normal and didn't really give me time of day. I also found out that during my surgeries and recovery, I should have been in the hospital longer. My current Neurosurgeon and team believes from the scans and amount of pain I'm in, my spine never fused to the cage. They are going to go in and see what is up. The hope is to either remove and replace it, or build around it to secure it despite it may hinder my mobility. I still stand by my word that Dr. Grain did a good job on my neck. I have no issue there. But my back? Three years of pain that made me want to die and contemplate suicide, that had me on high dose opioids (prescribed by pain management) and using a cane and rolling walker... I'm 34. The worst part was when I could still see him, it was as if he wanted nothing to do with me after my kind words on here.

He did awesome job on both of my neck infusions.. He explained everything to me before he even decided to do the surgeries.. His Staff and himself are all very nice to me when I go for my appointments. He answers all my questions I have asked him too.. Just want to thank him and his staff and the hospital staffs where I had both my procedures done. I would recommend Dr. Peter Grain to everyone. Thank you again.. Happy New Years!
