Update to my review as of July 20, 2017: It seems I have been booted into the same situation as those in the reviews below this one. I should have my royalty check from the second quarter (ended in June) in my hand yet do I?? NO I do not! I've emailed Laura Tan, Jessie Peyton, Jay Lam, the webmaster, and Michael Spelling to no avail, except for an "I forwarded your royalty amount to our finance dept." from Lam all I've gotten is SILENCE, CRICKETS, DEEP DARK PIT of no response whatsoever from them or their SO-CALLED FINANCE DEPT. They take your money quick but when time to pay out forget it! I wrote the book Bookventure - not YOU! All I want is a response and what I HAVE EARNED IN ROYALTIES!! Answers from these people is like pulling teeth! I 'm fed up, time to get my lawyer involved, so be it....now if I do receive my royalty LIKE NOW, great, I will say so and amend this review, until then it stays! Your choice BV!!! Love how you treat your authors...good going....not! Update: Got my check today, July 22. Finally. Sent in a big envelope with no receipt or explanation of payment such as books sold, vendor, royalty amount for each sale etc. I know this company is fairly new, maybe short staffed? A little more professionalism would be nice. Since I am a writer, I will keep this review informed...stay tuned...I still have to have check go thru bank....update 9/15/18 - check went thru, none since. The response to my comment from BV was for some other person, not me. There was no confusion at bank etc.....not good! Nov. 21, 2020 - so nooooow my book has been removed from their sales both in their site and from Amazon. On Amazon it says "no longer in print"!!! You gotta be kidding me????? What else with this ROTTEN company! They never informed me my book was being shut down, no notice, NOTHING! IF I COULD GIVE THIS STINKING COMPANY A MINUS 1000 STARS I WOULD! New authors please RUN FROM BOOK VENTURE!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!

I started publishing with book venture in 2017. I completely paid for 2 book packages and January of 2020. They never sent me completed work. They package deal they did not deliver on the agreement! For either books and I have not seen any of my vestments nor did they tell me anything. The lady Sara Mcquire is nice until she gets all your money then you can’t get in contact with her anymore! This is fraudulent activity when you promise and sign agreements then don’t keep it and take someone money!

Use a more reputable and honest company like Newbookauthors.com , this company has many complaints.

I have a book published from this company. They have NOT been in contact with me for over a year. They took $125.00 and they still did not pay it back. What kind of a scam is this company. They promise you sales but so far I sold only 12 books from them.please read everything before you sign on with them.they also promised me a radio interview but never got that either. Maybe they should practice what they preach.also my marketing manager quite and no one told me. I want to get more of my books, but again no calls and no emails that s__k. I am rewriting my book and sending it to a different publisher, maybe I will get a better connection with them

If I could give Book Venture a rating lower than 1/5 stars on Google, I absolutely would. I paid them $699 to help me start publishing my book over 3 years ago. I was promised royalties, and assistance, but much like the majority of these comments, was scammed and not contacted for 3 years. The person who was supposed to be helping me went by the name “Elise Matthews” and held a title of “Senior Publishing Consultant”. If this woman or this company contacts you, anything they promise you is a lie. This company is a complete scam that is targeting people passionate enough to write a book. I will soon be getting lawyers involved, as Elise and the entire company is unresponsive now in my demanding my money back. To add insult to injury I received an email in May asking for $500 more dollars as a second payment. I can tell you with certainty that any positive thing you’ve read about this company was written by someone involved in these scams.
