Had a wonderful weekend with a sleigh ride, elk viewing and a delicious dinner. Then a super fun time doing karaoke with Zuesha who was our enthusiastic and energetic guide on the trip!! Looking to book another trip in the fall!! The beds were a little hard and could use a little updating in our room. but an experience well worth it. Food & drinks: Dont forget to grab a hot drink at the club house before the elk trip!!

Bed Bugs!!! Bedbugs! Wish could give better review but feel important to share. Did the elk viewing, dinner and villa room. Elk viewing cool.Elk enclosure needs to be improved I feel for the elk. Elk are being exploted by the people they have been entrusted to be careed for harvesting the elks soft antlier tissue. Owner gave inappropriate, disruptive and extreamly lengthy sales pitch selling the antler powder.just went on and on oblivious resort should be for guest experience and not snake oil pitch. Villa has filthy, outdated and the BEDBUGS! Grabbed all belongings and put in double plastic bags. Management tried to first deny! The hotel employee initial response had been we have never had a bedbug complaint. Both had little to say when came to bedroom and seen for themselves the bedbugs crawling all over the beds and headboards! I have come crossed other online reviews indicating place had bedbugs dated 2012 and a 2016 complaint. Again, Thunderbay Resort villa Room 225 had been infested with bed bugs! It was late when Management transferred our group of four to another building and room. The room transferred too was smelly, filthy, carpet also filthy with soil and stains with dead lady bugs. Looked as if not vacuumed or cleaned for some time. But was exhausted at that point. Crashed with only few hours sleep. Left early next morning. Thunderbay refunded some money. Important: Michigan law requires hotels to refund money and requires no public health hazards including no bedbugs. If you become infested because of bedbug exposure at hotel your entitled to 10k to 80k to exterminate your home. Possible more. Hopefully Thunderbay eradicates bedbugs and cleans place up. Also I asked Thunderbay to inform other visitors to especially room 225 of the bedbugs. Initial response, said prior visitor most likely brought bedbugs but said would advise. Again, this wbedbugs. I found online discussion that reveals ThunderBay has past history of bed bugs. ThunderBay Resort owners, management and staff need to do what is right and ensure healthy safe environment and no bed bugs Also after a nuce dinner, poor wine tasting experience, myself and all the other guests had been subjected to a very long sales pitch selling an elk powder supplement. Very in appropriate. It was a long ongoing pitch. And not able to leave because has been transported out in middle of woods and yet to see the elk. Hope elk not being harmed. Also elk enclosure environment could use much upgrading for elk and at very least have shelter. In wild elk do seek out shelter in the pines and trees. The habitat offered very little unfortunately. Also, not sure if this soft tissue collecting from elk humane or what's going on ? Rooms: Bed bugs, filthy carpet, outdated
