This review is going to be a little biased and not up to date as it has been years since I have eaten here. During the 80's and 90's my Grandparents (Mike and Neeltje Rawson) owned and operated this establishment. They kept the place clean and stocked with quality food that as an adult I find hard to match anywhere else. My Grandparents didn't stand for sub-par service and if you had a complaint it was dealt with.
The prime rib, steak and local vegetables were always great. The hamburgers were a favorite of mine, but the coup de gras to their culinary arsenal was the pizza. The cheese was hand selected from Chicago (and we often had to pick it up ourselves...thats a long way to drive just for hundreds of pounds of cheese.) The hand crafted dough, fresh toppings and we even ground our own sausage. It was amazing, that is all I can say. I wish I would have copied the recipes but they were sold to the new owners.
