Attended a lake front wedding. The wedding literally took place on the dock, with chairs on the small beach for friends and family. The reception took place on the deck overlooking the lake, which would have been a more attractive view if we hadn't been huddled inside the smallish main building next to the fireplace due to an unexpected cold snap. Overall a wonderful venue for any event, as long as you don't have more than about 100 people in attendance.
