We visited Saffron De Twah when they were having a special celebration for the chef's James Beard Award nomination. They changed their menu for the party but the food was absolutely incredible and really showed off Chef's fusion capabilities. The vibe was fantastic, customers laughing and having a great time. Chef Omar is a wonderful human deeply kind and funny as hell. This spot is an absolute gem of Detroit cuisine. 11/10 would eat again!

The food was delicious, clearly made with a lot of care. I was really impressed and moved by the commitment that Chef Omar has for his patrons, his staff, and his community. I have NEVER had a restaurant owner come to my table and engage in conversation, and I could tell Omar was really quite interested in fostering a welcoming environment at his restaurant. The patio was quite cozy and extremely clean with some great plants. Overall, an awesome atmosphere and a welcoming place to get a home-cooked meal. Thank you!

Food is unusually delish - spicy, tart, citrusy, savory yumminess. We had carrot and eggplant dips, harissa potatoes and chicken/fish sammies. Will try tangine next time. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Funky setting, only issue was sitting outside traffic noise was intense, but dont let that deter; the food is worth it.

It's easy to see why the Chef Omar Anani is up for a James Beard award. Such an unassuming restaurant in an odd part of Detroit that I would never have expected it to be in but done so well that you don't feel like you are, where you are. I wanted to order everything on the menu but got the Moroccan Chicken Sandwich (Crispiest ever and extremely juicy and full of flavor) , Saffron Tomato Dip (it and the house made pita chips were AMAZING), and the Harissa Potatoes (great flavor and perfect spice flavor level) The Cold Brew Cardamom Latte was delicious as well! Definitely will be visiting many more times to try everything else.
