        It was 1956 and I was in Kindergarten. The Health Department in Detroit Michigan. sent technians out in the community to test children for Diptheria. I remember being terrified of the man. He took a throat and nose culture. The q-tip was about ten inches long. He stuck it so far up my little 👃 that I swore it almost came out of my eye. In my kindergarten class 3 children had been diagnosed positive for Diptheria, myself and twin girls who had come from Mexico. Sorry to say they died. I couldn't be in direct contact with Anyone, not even my parents. All they could do was look at me through a glass. The doctors and nurses took excellent care of me and I lived to tell about it. Now I turn 68 yrs old this month. I had no idea that Herman Kroger Hospital was still caring for people. Thank you all employees!
