Mission point of Detroit is the worst nursing facity ever. The people are rude they treat their residents like prisoners. You only get a hour to visit with your loved one. They are just soaking up the insurance money by keeping people in there and not doing anything to make their residents better. If I had the choice I would take my loved one out

Zero stars. In my opinion Mission Point has no business being a hospice. No communication with family members from day one unless complaints made. No compassion for patient or family. Any questions answered with lectures to family. Promises never followed through. No aid for end of life patients unable to help themselves. Patient fell out of bed trying to open blinds for window visit. No one around. No one answered phone. Friends saying how wonderful hospice was for them. Nightmare for me at Mission Point Clinton Township. When I took loved one home, I immediately received call from director saying she was blindsided by my moving patient to home and got another lecture. Very compassionate to call family about this. I was blindsided the entire time my loved one was there. Before bringing patient home, patient was finally moved to room where visitation was one hour in the morning and one hour in afternoon (instead of 1/2 hour per day scheduled) if you knocked on locked door and someone inside just might see you and open it. And if not, you were to stand at locked door and call Mission Point to let you in but phone was rarely answered after hours. So after patient got into this room, nurse said how much trouble they went through to put patient there and a thank you from me was in order. Another compassionate lecture. After that I moved to bring patient home. Terrible experience at such a traumatic time. Totally blindsided by Mission Point. Update. So wonderful being contacted months after the fact. Loved one now deceased and am left with horrible nightmares and counseling to get over the hospice experience at this facility. Recently spoke with relative whose loved one was in hospice elsewhere and the wonderful care that was received.

While there are some wonderful staff at Mission Point Superior Woods who would bend backwards for their patients, there is no excuse for the way i suffered at the hands of those who were impatient, bored, rude, or just downright hated their job. There was poor service, they never made my bed, the therapist told me to ask the nurse then the nurse would say one minute and never come back. this was basically how they solved EVERY ISSUE of mine. even when i spilled juice all over myself it took a whole day to get new sheets, but they didnt give them to me; my granddaughter came to visit me and got me fresh sheets herself! some employees were very rude and would roll their eyes when i asked for things which discouraged me from asking for things i needed in the future. AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE FOOD! I was losing weight (6lbs) while i was supposed to be gaining weight. AND OFTEN THEY WOULD LEAVE ME IN PAIN. a couple of times i had waited an entire day for my painkillers Also, while the doctor was nice, he spoke to my son the entire time, over my head, and disregard my presence. My son was in a hurry to leave so he had no time to relay any of the information to me! Now i could be wrong but im pretty sure since Im the one taking the medications, I sure know what im taking, why im taking it, for how long etc! But i got none of that information due to the doctors lack of communication with his patient, me! -My great grandmama who i love lots & shall avenge with this review
