This school hasn't changed for 20+ years but the school changes the students. Every single time someone I know goes to GLAA they come back a disrespectful pompous fool. And academics aren't worth your time as well.

My experience at GLAA has been some of the best memories I've ever made. The school provides good quality education. In middle school I always had only 1A couple of B's and C's but this year I have made it with all A's and 1 B. Alot of comments talk about favoritism and I believe there is a huge misconseption here. There is no doubt that the school is very religious and because of this the school is very close to many people throughout the church. Due to this many staff have watched countless kids in the community grow up either at Cedar lake or even camp meeting. This means that staff just know some kids better than others. Lots of kids get good jobs because they have seen a good work ethic in students as they have grown. Due to this some kids get better jobs. It is definitely possible to get good jobs and get in the photos and yearbook photos as a kid from places distant from GLAA. However this comes at a fair cost. If you fool around and don't work hard, staff see that. If you don't throw yourself out there them you aren't in photos. The entire GLAA experience is really what you make of it. This goes for chosing friends as well. MANY of the students are great people and are some of my closest friends, but not everyone is an angel. If you are around bad people this will be reflected on you. Overall would recommend this school to any parent asking where to send there child. This is the best environment I can see for any child to bring them out of highschool.

This is a great school, but it’s not perfect. Much of the experience whether good or bad depends on how the student makes it. If you want to get the best experience in Bible training and college prep while having some solid friends, you can. However, if you want to hang out with the wrong crowd and blame the school as a failure, you can. Are there cliques, bullies, rich, and poor? Yes! However, the faculty and deans try to create the safest environment as possible. Offenders will get disciplined or expelled. Are there hiccups? Of course, but the school tries to take a Christ-centered approach in being redemptive as much as possible. The campus is well maintained and beautiful. The facilities are mostly up to date. I would highly recommend sending your child here. Is it pricy? Yes, but with all the scholarships and funding available you can send your child here for under $200 a month. Their eternity is worth much more than that. Send them :)

My husband and I couldn't be happier with the experience our son is having at GLAA in all aspects - spiritually, academically and socially. We were nervous for our son to be away from home, but the staff are all so caring, kind, redemptive and loving that it is truly like family. I felt nothing but genuine caring and God's love from the moment I set foot on the campus. Our son absolutely loves it there and is having a wonderful experience - better than we could have ever hoped for.
