It’s more important to them that you pick up your belongings from old jobs than it is for them to help you find a new job if something happens with your assignment/contract

I was warned that they were racist and rude but today I had my own experience. I was supposed to start a job today “hatch” which I have several friends that work there so I knew where it was, their bus schedule and everything so it was a win win for me .. unbeknownst to me there are two “hatch” facilities about 9 miles away from each other so I accidentally reported to work at the wrong facility. I went through orientation about 3 hours in I noticed they were giving me different information than I had read that’s when we figured out I was at the wrong “hatch”. I was very apologetic when I called them but instead of understanding that mistakes do happen and that I had at least showed up still they hung up in my face. I called back 9 different times to explain how sorry I was and that it wasn’t intentional at all but I was told “You made me look stupid to the company”. I understood that they could no longer place me anywhere, understandable, but I asked to speak with a manager because the woman was so rude to me for no reason. They chose not to answer my call. I called 3 times from my number which my name shows up when I call and got no answer so I called right back from a different number and that call was answered. They have no idea what some of us less privileged folks have to go through to acquire employment and then to be talked to ever so rudely and frowned upon was like a slap in the face. Yes it was my mistake for not making sure I had to correct facility and I was very embarrassed about that. But no I did not make her look stupid. I did. 50 miles away from my home for nothing, hours in an orientation for nothing. That was obviously a mistake! I should have listened when all of Facebook warned about these people. People need to be more mindful of the way they speak to people, especially people that they do not know!!
