I've been in several times as I live down the street from this place. The owner is an incredibly nice man who is glad to help you find what you are actually wanting. I've been to places before where the antique dealers are trying to force you to pick something out. This place is not like this at all. There is a lot to look at. This also is a critique, as it can be a bit overwhelming when things seemed piled on top of other things. I mostly look for books and this place has a great selection. I'll need to go back and look again soon. I did pick out some books to purchase that didn't have a price in them and the owner had me wait to look them up online for whatever they were selling on Ebay or wherever. I get the idea of getting your money's worth, but this seemed a little unprofessional to me. He does dicker with you, so I was able to get him down to a price that I was more comfortable with. Overall, I have always had good experiences.

Awesome place, cool dealer, nice greeter. From books to tools...military to sports stuff.....figurines to jewelry....indian art to pre-columbian hes got it or access to it! A lot crammed into a small space. You can tell he loves the stuff. He talks about his items with a passion. His hours vary and was told by the owner he has to have it that way because he does a lot for locals and might be running one to the doctors or shopping. He does leave his number displayed if its an antique emergency. He does buy, sell and consign items. A really down to earth place....not the tutti fruity "would you like an espresso?" kind of place. He allows for digging in boxes and looking in drawers. Probably the best shop inS.W.Michigan.

Ok, I just wanna express how wonderfully amazing this place is. You can't just go inside just once, they are always getting new stuff, and the owner is always welcoming, and tries to remember everyone who comes in, their names. The place is absolutely amazing, with a huge selection of stuff. Everything from art, like paintings, pottery, jewelry of all kinds and even a canon! I absolutely loved my visit to Lake streets Antique shop and I will be back.
