Dana's Lakeside Resort

Great experience. The cabins are rustic and a bit dated, but that's part of the draw if you ask me. The important stuff (plumbing, electrical, appliances...) are up to date and reliable. This place provides so much more than a cabin. You've got a beach, dock, playground, wooden swings, picnic tables, outdoor grill, firepit, there's literally just kayaks and life vests laying around to go explore the lake... And the camp host is great too. This has been a fun weekend. I suspect I'll be back in the future.

I wish I could tell you how nice this place is but my reservation was just CANCELLED BY THE OWNER with less than 7 days until I was due to arrive. Amy stated that she over-booked our cabin and because our deposit was received later than others, our cabin was now taken by another party. I was never once warned that this could happen! And to the point, we paid our deposit in full 3 months ago. If you're hoping for a vacation you can count on, AVOID THIS PLACE!

I’ve been vacationing at Dana’s since I was a little girl, and I am always amazed at how neat, clean, and well-maintained the cabins are. Amy and her team go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome; plus, they are a pet-friendly resort, which is a must for us. We’ve stayed at cabins and resorts across the UP, and we keep coming back to Dana’s. Decades later, I still get that same happy feeling driving down the gorgeous tree-lined road that leads to the resort. If you are looking for a wonderful vacation and hosts that treat you like family, look no further! P.S. My hubby is super excited by the brand new Weber grills. :-)

Accusing someone of harassment is not a very professional way to respond and a phone call to find out where our money is not harassment. It might have been in your better interest to communicate and give us the tracking information in the first place. BTW, your lack of empathy upon notifying me about your mistake was disheartening. My review still stands.

I've stayed at Dana's several times--in spring, summer, and fall--and have only ever had excellent experiences. We stayed in Cabin 5 on our last visit, which has a beautiful view of the lake. Amy and Meaghan are very accommodating and kind hosts and I will always recommend a stay at Dana's!
