They should post in order signs on things that actually work in this hotel. The unpleasant smell lingers in your room and on you well after you leave. They make up for the lack of amenities and terrible smell with awful customer service so that's a plus. If you are looking for a better place to stay in au gres I would suggest your car or tent on the side of the road. Their breakfast consists of old bagels and two types of stale cereal. Coffee pot was out of order. If you are contemplating staying here I would suggest a ditch along the road. Au gres inn is far nicer and more reasonably priced.

My husband drives an 18 wheeler. So when it started snowing heavy I called ahead to see if our truck would fit and if our jack russell would be ok. The owner met us out the side door when we pulled in and was so very friendly and nice. No soda machine although there is a Dollar General is right across the street. The owner knock on our door with a 2 liter out of her own stock so I didn't have to go out in the cold again. We will be staying here anytime we are in the area.

The good: It was quiet. It was available. The less than good: It’s really run down. Toilet seats falling off. Wallpaper shredding off the room walls. AC was suspect. Outside doors didn’t lock. Free breakfast was a cold bagel, just the bagel no condiments. No coffee. Sadly this lodge is a one night only, in desperation, stay.
