Working with Eric and Spencer at the Buyer's Broker was a truly wonderful experience. If we could give them 15 stars, we would... Honestly! Eric came highly recommended to me by at least 10 friends/colleagues, and I completely understand why. The team at the Buyer's Broker were responsive, knowledgeable, patient, and ethical throughout our home buying process. Their competence was evident from our first "get to know you" meeting to our closing. Not only do they bring with them generations of real estate experience in Southeast Michigan, they also have extensive experience building homes themselves, which was helpful as we walked through homes and had questions about possible issues, repairs, etc. Eric was calm and collected as we decided to make an offer on a home, both providing us with helpful guidance and giving us space to make an informed decision that was right for us. As we all know, the whole endeavor of buying a home can be stressful, but Eric and Spencer made the experience easy to understand and manage. They went above and beyond. We would highly recommend their services to friends and family!

We had the exceptional fortune to stumble across "The Buyer's Broker, LLC" when searching online for a realtor who would be willing to take on the extraordinary task of helping us buy a home on a contingency basis in the midst of the COVID-19 shutdown while we were several hundred miles away. The qualities we sought were: "honest", "ethical", "a good listener", "a good communicator", "a strong negotiator and advocate", and "good local knowledge". Eric met and surpassed all of these qualities, and added to the mix his experience in building construction - expertly and tactfully helping us think through the up-front prospective investment in time and labor that would be involved in several of the "fixer-uppers" we were looking at. Buying from afar led us to consider a multitude of homes in a broad price range and a broad range of communities in the greater Ann Arbor area -- through it all Eric preserved an exceptional sense of equanimity and courtesy -- when I am confident other realtors would have been ready to throw up their hands in impatience!
Having found "the right home" -- Eric led us through the full process of inspections, offers and counter-offers. We felt confident (and remain so) that he was 100% trustworthy and could be counted upon to accurately relay our position to the seller's realtor; it was clear that our best interest was foremost on Eric's mind throughout the entire process.
We arrived without any friends or family in the community -- and in this context Eric and Spencer graciously volunteered to help us move the heaviest of our furniture from the moving truck and into the home. This included a baby grand piano!!! Eric and Spencer would not accept payment.
We are still using some of the hand soap that Eric gave us as part of a house-warming gift basket. It's another reminder of the passion for detail and the genuine regard for the well-being of his clients that makes Eric a phenomenal realtor.
We wish there were more than five stars to rate Eric and The Buyer's Broker - they deserve them all.

When imagining buying our first home, buying during a global pandemic never entered the picture. We started looking for our first home in the Ann Arbor area right when the state was in the process of shutting down and supply was at an unprecedented low. We also had high expectations in terms of the house and yard for the right value which made us tough clients to please. Despite all the challenges of the COVID real-estate market, we had an amazing experience working with Spencer and found the house of our dreams.
We highly recommend Spencer and the rest of the Buyer’s Broker team for their professionalism, honesty and knowledge of the Ann Arbor are market. Specifically, we really appreciated working with Spencer for his building and renovation experience (he recently just completed building his own house!)– he was able to reliably give us estimated costs for repairs and improvement ideas, and quickly connected us with experts when issues arose. He was a great teacher in what to expect and how to make the most attractive offer, even in this strange sellers’ market. Spencer’s patience, encouragement, diligence, and easy communication put us at ease throughout the initial search, offer, inspection and negotiation processes. We always knew he was on our team and wanted the best home at the best negotiated price for us. We are so grateful for Spencer’s help in buying our dream home!
