Short: DO NOT SEE THIS “PSYCHIATRIST.”
This is my opinion. Sharon Dodd-Kimmey, per my experience, is the most negligent doctor I’ve ever seen.
The long: I *was* a patient of Sharon for nearly a decade; maybe longer - I candidly can’t remember how long it’s been, but it’s been a long time. During that time, I lost my job SOLELY because her assistant “forgot” to email an agreed upon release form to my employer AFTER Sharon put me on a medical leave, resulting in my termination because they had no record of the doctor who put me on the leave in the first place and needed to have it directly from their office. The most pathetic part is, the Director of Huron Valley (Alex) called me days later to let me know they (Kathy, Sharon) “found the release stuck to the back of another manila file folder,” (I have record of this) and had TO CALL MY EMPLOYER IMMEDIATELY TO EXPLAIN THEIR EMBARRASSING MISTAKE. I was reinstated immediately but it caused a fracture with my employer that eventually resulted in my feeling I needed to leave for another job (I wish I still had that job). This isn’t the worst. I came here to improve how I manage my mental illness, not create more issues to manage on top of what I already have. That sentence is literally the moral of the story with this facility and Sharon: they create more issues than they have a hand in fixing.
While I can write a novel about all of the crazy issues that occurred trying to see this “psychiatrist,” what happened recently - what spurned my leaving her practice to find help elsewhere - was when she negligently prescribed me medicine a few months ago in the form of writing two separate concurrent prescriptions to fill. What this did was create issues with the pharmacy I was using, but when I tried to consult with this “doctor” on the way the prescriptions were written and my issues she was nowhere to be found. I had to see my primary care doctor and when my doctor saw what was going on she took over writing the prescriptions for this medicine and others to ensure they’re prescribed the right way. That’s a big problem with this “doctor” - she is SO ASSUMPTIVE and PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, which is not conducive to helping others in this field. Those characteristics drive her behavior and how she works with certain people. One time she even called me 15 minutes late for an appointment while *I was having an issue in the bathroom* and because I couldn’t get to the phone in that exact moment - 15 minutes later than scheduled, no less - that I needed to “call the office to reschedule” with no callback number for her or option to call back for the rest of my HOUR LONG APPOINTMENT. I believe she even tries to bill for that!
What else is there, Sharon? Because if I think really hard, both of us know it would take the rest of my life to finish writing this sort of complaint. All I can say is, if you’re reading this and you value your mental health, see someone else.
