Matt has done a fabulous install job on my interior trim. He also stuck around to help with assembly of my son’s basketball hoop. Above and beyond! I’ll always call Steve at Handy Hometown first for any home projects- he and his crew are trustworthy, thoughtful and responsive.

I do not recommend using this company for plumbing repairs. To make a long story short, my first appointment was May 5, 2019. As of April 23, I still had a leaking shut-off valve and leaking pipes under a bathroom sink. The plumber had been a no-show three times so I finally said no more. Now I have to hire a real plumber to finish the work.

Steve helped us take down and remove two large floor to ceiling mirrors and did an excellent job. Highly recommend!

Very negative experience with this company. I scheduled an appointment for 9 a.m. They called me at 10:30 the day of the appointment to tell me it was cancelled. I rescheduled. The person who came over behaved like a nervous wreck (told me he was being treated by a doctor for anxiety). The job was a light fixture installation, but he had no ladder? Asked ME questions about ladder sizes, and asked if he could use a shorter ladder by setting in on top of my cabinets which, incidentally, are about 12 feet high. Dangerous if not impossible. Quoted me a price of $125, but quickly told me there would an "up charge" = $250 to do the work that day (apparently to cover the cost of retrieving a ladder from another job site). I suggested we reschedule for a different day when the proper equipment was available to avoid the "up charge", but somehow he said the price would still be $250. Told me that was a "perfect price" and that half of it would go to the "company who gave him the job". Cost aside, I would never have this person perform any work in my home, especially not involving electricity, if he was that baffled by a simple light installation. Should not be that difficult. This company was recommended by Menard's in Belleville. Perhaps they should reconsider some of their referral sources.
