Im a severe Traumatic Brain Injury - Acute subdural Hemorrhage survivor after a big fall I was rushed with multiple seizures by ambulance UMASS trauma center Dr Weaver Was my angel he saved my life, my only possibility of survival was Craniotomy a very complex neurosurgery were part of my skull was removed because my brain ICP was very high That could become in more brain damage , I was in medical induced coma, a month in NEURO ICU prognosis unknown the brain impact and Hemorrhage were extremely severe that doctors and family were hopeless of my survival but happened the unbelievable I woke up from coma the neurosurgery was successful!! That was jaw dropping! Dr Weaver is one of the bests Neurosurgeon in MA and in the country Im so thankful to Dr Weaver Also to UMASS TRAUMA CENTER- NEURO ICU TEAM that took care of me Thank you so much again !! I doing my rehab at Spaulding rehabilitation center because I had to start over and learn again thousands of things , but still going to Spaulding everything is doing good! For me the consequences after my SEVERE TBI do not stop me Im always have been a fighter and Im alive I can be with my husband Jon and our young boys they are my reasons for to be motivated and keep going!!! Please refer to my review for Dr. Fredrick Pennings for additional details. When I needed it, Dr. Weaver was the first Neurosurgeon I saw for my problem with my spine. Dr. Weaver immediately recognized my need and scheduled my surgery for the following week with his associate, Dr. Pennings. Dr. Weaver was not involved in my surgery, so I cannot speak toward that, but as a consulting physician he was fabulous. I feel completely at ease with him and trusted him so much that I actually canceled my second opinion and went immediately with Dr. Pennings because he recommended him. As a courtesy, Dr. Weaver also reviewed a second MRI for an additional disc bulge I had higher in my spine that another surgeon I had consulted with earlier in the year on that other issue you left me confused and terrified about. He gave me a valuable opinion and assuaged those fears with a mere sentence or two. Dr. Weaver is the kind of doctor other physicians should aspire to be. I would feel comfortable in the assumption that Dr. Weaver is as capable a surgeon as Dr. Pennings, but I hope you never suffer the need to find out for yourself.
