RENTERS BEWARE! Plantation Ridge charges significant fees when you leave if you don't give them an additional notice that you will leave at the end of the term as written in the lease. For example, if you sign a lease that specifies that the lease ends on March 31, 2015 and you honor the lease and vacate the apartment on or before the termination date, Plantation Ridge still will charge you AN ENTIRE MONTH'S RENT for failing to give them a written notice 60 days in advance that you intend to move out on the date specified in the lease. Most leases require tenants to notify the lessor if the departure date CHANGES. But Plantation Ridge charges a full month's to tenants that ADHERE TO the departure date on the lease. This is an unheard of provision hidden in the Plantation Ridge lease that penalizes tenants as they leave. This is a vary harsh financial penalty that Plantation Ridge levied upon 2 unemployed full-time UMass medical students who had been ideal tenants, so UMASS MEDICAL STUDENTS & EMPLOYEES SHOULD AVOID PLANTATION RIDGE AND THEIR SIGNIFICANT DEPARTURE FEES!

The building and outside living area are looks good, might be the most attractive in Worcester. This is why I gave two stars.
The renting office people/managment here are hard to talk with. I feel sad every time after talking to them.They don't care if you stay here for long term or when to leave. They only care if you pay rent on time.
From this October, It requireds renters insurance to live here.
I am going to leave here with increased rent of $60/month dollars plus renters insurance. It is over charged.
Stay away here, if you want to find a place living for a long term.

My husband and I lived here for 16 months. During that time the air conditioning in the building did not work properly. We spoke with several other tenants in building 507 who all had similar complaints. After maintenance came to "fix" the problem for the fourth time, we were told that the entire system in the building needed to be replaced but the company was not in a position to do it. It never worked properly the first summer we lived there. We never could get the large living area below 82 degrees and the bedroom would rarely cool below 75 degrees. The second summer the air conditioner again could not cool the living area to a comfortable temperature. The bedroom system worked better, but still took several hours to reach a comfortable temperature.
At the end of our twelve month lease, we choose not to renew for another twelve months because we were uncertain what our needs would be. We remained on a month to month basis for four months. We had problems concerning the rent amount during this period. We tried to address our concerns with the management company but they instead involved a lawyer, who refused to speak with us to discuss the matter. They are now threatening to send the alleged payment to collection agency, which could impact our credit. The entire amount which is being disputed consists of a couple hundred dollars. We are very disappointed with how they have handled this matter. They have spent more on legal fees than the amount they believe they are owed. We have now been trying to resolve this matter for more than five months and neither the management staff nor their attorney will return our calls to resolve the issue.

All the negative reviews are correct. In addition there was a major flodding in one of the buildings that affected all 100 units. There must be mold everywhere now... And no comp was made to the residents.

Problems:
1-Air conditioning is very poor quality, doesn't work at all during the summer time, called maintenance several times which was a waste of my time
2-Overpriced, hidden fees that you don't know about, you should expect increase in the rent every year
3-Couple of rude staff at the leasing office
4-Staff at the leasing office usually leave the office an hour before exit time
5-T-mobile transmission sucks
