Eric is a caring and professional farrier. He saved my heart horse from a laminitis attack. Will be forever grateful to this wonderful man. He is always gentle and calm and the horses love him!

I would not want anyone else doing my horse’s trims. Eric is incredibly knowledgeable, prompt, and personable. My horse can be a little difficult (for lack of a better word) and shifts constantly and always needs to be looking around. Eric knows just how to handle him so he stands but doesn’t have that dreaded fear of the farrier.

Eric is an outstanding professional farrier. I brought him a horse that had 2 very different feet and a quarter crack. He got the horse out of glue on shoes and in regular shoes with in 2 shoeings saving me a lot of money. Eric takes his work very seriously and truly takes the time to do it right. He is constantly educating himself with the best in the business which shows in his precise work. If you have a horse with hoof issues you should truck to Tufts. It’s well worth the drive.

I was thrilled to have discovered Eric John 5 years ago - finally a farrier who is as courteous about meeting his time commitments as he is competent and knowledgeable in the treatment of the many equine podiatry issues my herd has presented. I have had quite a few rescue projects over those years, many of whom were victims of neglect and abuse. Eric patiently worked through the behavioral issues inherent in working on a distrustful, frightened horse's feet, and tackled the problems including white line, thrush, chronic laminitis, club foot and overgrowth, with aplomb. I have a young mare who continues to give Eric a challenge to trim despite my training efforts, yet he approaches her every time with patience and good humor. All of my horses are sound and barefoot - even my OTTB who used to have more epoxy than hoof!

I can not recommend Eric highly enough. After years of “solutions” from a previous farrier to correct a stumbling problem my horse was having, it took Eric only minutes to explain why he was stumbling, and offer a solution to correct it. Eric explained it completely and concisely, and began working with my horse right away. The results were almost immediate! I purchased another horse whose previous owner would have to tranquilize for her farrier. One visit and Eric quickly determined that the horse was fine if you kept his leg right under him to trim him. And it was only 1 leg! The horse was fine with the other 3. Needless to say, we have not had to tranquilize this horse in the 5+ years I’ve owned him due to Eric’s ability to assess the situation. Eric treats and cares for each horse as the individual they are, with their own individual personalities and quirks. I will be forever grateful for the care he has taken with my horses.
